EECA countries ICT research priorities
By integrating the work done by the Cluster Projects (SCUBE-ICT, ISTOK SOYUZ and EXTEND) the ICT R&D priorities of the addressed Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries for the period 2011-2015 were identified. The priorities have been identified following consultation with more than 120 ICT R&D stakeholders in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as during the corresponding activities done in Russia and Central Asia countries (namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan).

The analysis per country revealed some R&D priorities are common in more and in fact have a ‘regional' character. The criterion for the selection of a priority as regional is the identification of the given priority by at least four countries addressed. However, in order to enable a broader overview of the whole region, the following figure includes also priorities that are identified by at least two countries.
